Coach. Consultant.
Teacher.
Am I the right fit for you?
After spending more than 25 years in both leadership and teaching positions, I started this practice to help leaders, boards and teams at all levels of an organization learn to better navigate their roles and find greater purpose in their work.
Over time I’ve found that real, reliable success requires striking balances. Between thoughtful pragmatism and big picture passion. Between having the confidence to go it alone and knowing when to seek help. Between following your instincts and following the rules. Mastering this balance can seem tricky at first, but in my experience, it’s the key to achieving a higher level of job satisfaction and stronger, healthier organizations overall. Let’s get there together.

COACHING
Support for leaders of all kinds
FOR INDIVIDUALS
Part of why it’s lonely at the top (and on your way there) is that unless you’ve been through it, you can’t fully understand the pressures, responsibilities and challenges leaders face. Together, we can develop your personal action plan, whether that includes honing your leadership skills, working with your board of directors, guiding change, helping you to find greater purpose in your work, or something else entirely.
FOR TEAMS
I help teams perform more effectively by building relationships on a foundation of shared purpose and values. I will work with you to clarify priorities, roles, and decision-making practices to achieve strong outcomes.
FOR BOARDS
I work with boards to unlock their potential by assessing their current performance and developing plans for improving governance practices – whether fiduciary, strategic, or generative – while laying the groundwork for more productive relationships with the organization’s leadership.
CONSULTING
Optimizing
organizations
for success
An outside perspective can uncover pathways to success that internal stakeholders oftentimes just cannot envision. I help clients identify and articulate key organizational issues. Then I develop plans to address them. This process can involve anything from strategic planning to program redesign and evaluation to succession planning to interim leadership.
TEACHING
Masterclasses
for future
leaders
As an adjunct Professor of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, my focus is on the strategic management of nonprofit organizations. In addition, I offer classes and individualized instruction for those on a path towards leadership positions in the social and nonprofit sectors. Click below for more information and class schedules.
